    > The woman also says the same man — a repeat sex offender who was on probation — should not have been walking the streets two months later when he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in a public washroom.

    > John Frederick Field, 62, was taken into custody by Vancouver police at the woman’s East 1st Avenue home on March 26 and released within 24 hours.

    > On May 28, Field was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting the 14-year-old as part of what the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) described as a „crime spree“ that took place in the Oakridge neighbourhood.

  2. Liberal party justice policies in the works. We deserve better. That kid deserved better.

  3. I cant afford to live anywhere in this country, everything from rent to groceries is so fkn expensive im paycheck to paycheck living for past 2 years ive also given up the dream of ever owning a house, and every god damn time i check the news its another story of our justice system letting down yet another victim with shit like this.

Im trying to be a patriotic Canadian but sometimes its fucking hard to want to be proud to live here dude.

It’s beyond abhorrent that they chose not to pursue the ‚dangerous offender‘ classification, which would have jailed him indefinitely. Had they done that, he wouldn’t of sexually assaulted a child. I’m at a loss with the justice system in this country. I hope all the victims heal and find peace.

Tell that to the justice minister who said that „soft on crime“ rhetoric is just nonsense

  6. The question to ask is why is the government protecting pedophiles and other types of criminal behaviour? Do the judges feel sorry for these people? Or are they being told by higher up’s, not to convict these individuals?

The base level of government, one of the pillars, is to protect people from those that are dangerous. Why are we paying taxes? To be victimized repeatedly?

  7. Justice system is a joke. Is anyone even looking at reforms? Clowns went on summer break.

The Canadian justice system bears culpability for the rape of this girl.

Let’s be honest, some people can’t be reformed, they simply must be warehoused until they die.

    > takes other peoples‘ rights away
    > own rights remain fully intact and protected once caught doing this and even elevated above others‘ rights
    > continues to take peoples‘ rights away

Can anybody spot where in this cycle a change could be made???

  12. What a complete failure of the legal system. Why this monster should ever see the light of day is beyond me?

I bet this time he’s safe to release. What are the odds he’d do that again?
