*Submission Statement:* The United States is facing an increasingly hostile global strategic environment from adversarial states, led by China, working to dismantle the US-led global order. China, along with Russia, Iran, and North Korea, is rapidly advancing military capabilities to challenge the US, while traditional security alliances, especially in Europe, are weakening. In response, the US is shifting its focus to Africa, home to vast mineral resources critical to its defense needs. However, the U.S. lacks a coherent strategy to compete with the influence of authoritarian states in the region. It also outlines recommendations for US policymakers to build stronger partnerships with African countries while enhancing US-Africa relations in the context of global security challenges.
