This happened to me and my child when we went to see “Wish”. Trailers for some sort of Thanksgiving horror movie, and the Killing Flowers one.
I’ll never forget.
It was two pg-13 trailers with the Jurassic movies being one which isn’t horror. I’m gonna say this is a bs lawsuits

I feel like at one point trailers generally complemented the genre/tone of the movie’s they followed but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Like I remember the trailer for It 2 playing in front of I think one of the Fast and the Furious movies. So like I’m not totally sure I agree with the lawsuit but I have had instances where I questioned trailers following certain movies.
Very curious what the second horror movie was and why they don’t name it. It is completely normal to show trailers for PG-13 movies before PG movies. Unless it was a red band trailer or the second horror movie was rated R, no case here.
I went to see Sinners pretty late for the release period. I think it was also the 2nd weekend Lilo and Stitch Remake had been out.
We sit down and my friend notice an older couple with some pretty young children. My friend was like „Do they know what movie this is? I hope they’re not in the wrong theater?“
They were! But they only noticed AFTER seeing some terrifying ass trailers, they even scared me a little. I went to the bathroom right before the movie started and when I came back I saw the old people arguing with an employee, saying how now their grandkids were traumatized. I think the ticket attendant told them the wrong theater lol
The trailer shouldn’t have been shown for a PG film but how was it scary? The trailer is played for laughs and its clear the new one is doubling down on the comedy.

I went to see the mummy 1999 with my family as a little kid and we left like 3 minutes into it cause I was so freaked out lol
I watched People under the stairs and Brain dead when I was a child and here I am!… All fucked up in the head but here I am!
Weird a Jurassic Park Rebirth trailer played in front of my showing of Lilo & Stitch and I don’t remember any little kids getting freaked out by it.
But, seeing a beloved Disney character being dumped in the foster care system and abandoned by the only family you have left us really heart warming.
Kids need to get toughened up, these parents should be thankful
She acting like they showed a scene from Saw or something. They showed a couple movie trailers that were a little thematic. The children will survive.
Trailers are like seasoning you sprinkle on your food before you eat it
We saw a matinee of Shrek the Third back in 2007 and I remember them running the redband trailer for Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem before it. In the US and Canada, trailers are classified themselves and only paired with like-rated movies. So here in Canada, if Kong: Skull Island gets a 14A, only 14A or lower classified trailers play in front of it.
Yes, it’s bonkers that nobody actually filters the pre-show trailers in cinemas. We’ve had that experience with really tense and scary trailers – and MUCH LOUDER that the movie was actually – before a few young children’s movies (The Smurfs, Trolls etc … really little kids).
But then we had to put up with effing Youtube beeping over anything remotely resembling a swear word. You looked up the video with the really potty mouthed celebrity because you like to hear them drop the F bomb!
