I agree with her on this generally. They make bank and then proceed to trash it. If you find superhero movies beneath you, then that’s fair. However, they never find the money beneath them, and if someone is paying me a million bucks to give a lackluster performance, the least I could do is not publicly call the movie shit.
idk, I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment out of Dakota Johnson hating *Madame Web* as much as we did.
Halle Berry showed up to her Catwoman Razzie ceremony in person, with her Oscar from Monster’s Ball in hand.

When Ryan Reynolds shits on Green Lantern, we all shit on it. It’s like laughing at yourself.
We all can’t be Halle berry
Is she aiming this at Dakota Johnson who just mocked Madame Web on Hot Ones?
Pretty shortsighted thinking, though, when you sign up to do movie A, but movie B actually gets made. Hard to stand behind a switch-a-roo that ended up worse than what you were promised.
Her movie hasn’t even come out yet
Full quote,
“I don’t know why people say yes [to a project] only to then turn around and complain about it,” Brosnahan said. “Look, I don’t want to shit on other actors, but there was a minute where it was cool to not like superhero movies and to look back on projects like this and pooh-pooh them. Do it or don’t do it, and then stand by it.”
She’s right but she’s omitting important factors that the story goes into later such as “creation by committee” or something along those lines. Which is also why some of these movies flop.
Personally? When I watched Madam Web and Thor, I thought they were entertaining. But not worth seeing in theaters because I personally prefer to stream movies. I often times buy “same day as theater” streams but that’s just me. I prefer to stay at home.
She’s not taking into account how actors can feel bamboozled when they’re pitched a great story (or straight up lied to), it ends up turning out like crap, and they have first hand experience to know why.
Idk but she was fantastic in marvelous Mrs Maisel.
In principle yes, people should take responsibility for their work etc. But actors don’t have the ultimate call on the movie that comes out. They sign up for a decent entertainment movie and what comes out can be utter trash.
Everyone has the right to express their opinion even on pieces of entertainment they aren’t in, let alone the ones they work on. And 99% of the times their criticism is valid.
They got paid handsomely.
You’re allowed to think a piece of work you did is kinda shit. It’s really stupid to argue otherwise IMO
She should’ve been in that movie with Brie Larson from 2023. Imagine Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, and the Marvelous Mrs Maisel together in one movie. That’s the ultimate crossover of the decade!
