      We should just take it off private hands so bonuses and dividends arent even a thing. Put the money back into it instead of extracting as much as possible while everything breaks.

      The size of the paypacket without bonus and dividends is going to become HUGE if they want to retain them or replace them. Especially when you add in they’re also public enemy number 1 at the minute and people want them jailed if they can’t improve their network fast enough.

      Who would want that risk without massive pay?

      Then the narrative will move over to being pissed off at how much they’re base pay is.

      Not sure that we should trust OFWAT to do this, they’ve sat back and allowed the current car crash to happen over the last 20 years.

      Look at senior OFWAT Directors leaving to sit on the main board of Water companies here in the U.K.

      OFWAT has failed repeatedly to hold water companies to account for decades, the pay is good though.

      They recently retroactively approved everything Thames did by rescuing them from their mistakes at the expense of working people. If we had a real regulator I might be interested. But we don’t

      Companies performing so badly shouldn’t even be paying bonus and giving pay rises.

      Which MPs are saying that, name them and check to see if any of their ‚consulting‘ earnings are traceable back to water company affiliations.

      And? Are they supposed to be a bastion of consumer rights? Ofwat approved 200% increase to our Thames Water bills.

      Services for which there is no true competition should be publicly controlled.

      If consumers don’t have the option to go elsewhere then operating companies have them over a barrel and there is no incentive to provide value for money.

      OFWAT, the organisation the allowed this shit show to happen on their watch and only woke up when there was public pressure? OFWAT needs investigating for is lack of effectiveness.
