Every time a shooting gets national attention the right immediately starts saying it was a trans person. We are the population that suffers the highest rate of violent crime (especially trans women who aren’t white) and and have the lowest rate of violent offenders at the same time. Friendly reminder that right wing extremism is responsible for the overwhelming majority of deaths and violence through terrorism in the US. Domestic terrorism has always been the more present threat, and the ones who do it the most are right wing extremists, typically white supremacists, the religious right, and young white cis men. (more than every other type combined, including foreign terrorism, left wing extremism, etc.)
