The fact that the UCP has pulled into a statistical tie with the NDP in Edmonton should be ringing alarm bells at NDP headquarters.
They need to split from the federal NDP ASAP. It was cute when you had Raj Pannu just happy to be there because the NDP wants to check off all the provinces but now that they’re a serious party they need to drop the baggage. Notley got away with it during a time the federal party was riding pretty high, and to her credit she navigated it really well, but fundamentally Alberta’s interests are probably served least of all with an NDP agenda, that just is what it is.
