SmarterEveryDay recently did a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZTGwcHQfLY) showing just how hard it is to get something entirely made in America these days. And that was just for a simple BBQ brush.
Even just „made anywhere except China“ was a struggle, and ended up with several parts that were probably manufactured in China, then relabelled and shipped from elsewhere claiming to be made there.
Even basic manufacturing skills are disappearing. There has never been the ability to make a smart phone in America – the machines needed to do it simply don’t exist, and neither does the knowledge and trained workers.
