In meinen 20 Jahren hier habe ich das nur gesehen, wenn ich im Ausland bin! Eine Gruppe junger Leute sitzt auf dem Bürgersteig und wartet darauf, dass das Licht rot wird, damit sie von der Vorderseite zirkusähnlich durchführen können, bevor das Licht wieder grün wird, und dann an den Autos vorbeigehen, um Geld zu bekommen.
Sie sind seit letzter Woche dort und es ist wirklich ärgerlich, weil mein Weg zur Arbeit dort vorbeikommt.

Look, all my life I’ve seen people begging at red lights, or people trying to sell you stuff.
Someone putting on a small show is a nice distraction. You’re not forced to give them money if you don’t want to, just enjoy the free show.

Don’t give them money and they will stop doing this. In Switzerland, everything one needs is provided if necessary, so noone needs to beg to survive.
I hate this kinda thing. Very common in Latin America (I hope we won’t get to see the windshield washers around here). The begging and music performing on public transport (rare but I see it more often that I would like) isn’t any good either
