Treating 54 lawmakers to VIP perks at Ruisrock isn’t “promoting culture”, it’s taxpayer financed influence peddling in a flower crown, if MPs want to rub elbows in the mosh pit, they can pay like everyone else and put that €18,400 toward repairing Turku’s leaking school roofs instead

I wonder to which parties they are distributed, or perhaps can we detect some form of discrimination towards certain parties?

That should be treated with scrutiny.

A big part of modern Finnish politics seems to be that the politicians, particularly young conventionally attractive party leaders, are seen going to typically youth-oriented events such music festivals and posing for photos on their social media, grinning smiling etc while in the very next story they post the grimmest of grim news from Ukraine, Palestine etc.

For me I think the whole “we’re still able to be goofy and fun” thing is extremely cringeworthy from supposedly serious public figures, particularly when it’s followed up by tonal whiplashes like criticising the True Finns for budget cuts or footage of an atrocity from Palestine.

To each their own i guess, that’s modern politics. For me I just think it’s lame seeing middle aged politicians behaving like teenagers.
