Yes, the GOP has to get over its „Trump Submission Syndrome“ but will only do so if the base starts to question things like the militarization of immigrant deportations.
GOP House Representatives and Senators are gargling Trump’s wrinkly ballsack and are gleefully asking for more with tears in their eyes.
The only reason they would grow a spine is if they’re afraid of the midterms. Such weak, spineless cowards with absolutely no moral values apart from power and money.

I like the idea of turning Trump Derangement Syndrome on its head, we should all keep Trump Submission Syndrome in our back pockets for when people try to dismiss criticism of him by envoking TDS.
It won’t change their minds, but as we saw with „weird“ if Democrats actually push back and use their tactics against them they end up on their back foot.

With how genuinely positive these protests were, it really makes me feel that the US is hamstrung without a parliamentary system.
I’m obviously not suggesting _our_ system, but many countries have a President **and** a Prime Minister — the latter with more day-to-day power and one that you can at least vote out with a vote of no confidence.
Even if there was the will within the GOP; how on earth can anybody unseat Trump?
The GOP has been subverting the general well-being of the people of the nation for as long as I’ve been alive. It’s NOT about Trump. Trump is a result, a culmination. The GOP has always been and will remain evil.

Sometimes I’m cynical about all the photos from the protests with everybody’s clever little signs but they do serve an important purpose in that people can see there’s grandmas and grandpas and little kids and not just mask wearing shouters at these things. We can only hope to start to chip away at them I guess.

The tariffs are about to hit America hard, taking around $200 per month out of the average family’s income. Trump is taking an already shaky economy and enacting the largest middle class tax cut in history by far.

January 6th and the ensuing 2nd impeachment trial was the GOP’s last chance. If they weren’t going to distance themselves from Trump then; they never will. It’s time for people to stop thinking that Republicans are good people and will do the right thing. They don’t care about anything but power; and as long as Trump wields power they will cling to him.

Trying to invent another wordier acronym just draws attention back to the original one. Instead, we should co-opt TDS and use it against people support him no matter how deranged he is.
Meh, I know you should “built a golden bridge for your enemy to retreat over”. But GOP are complicit. Remove trump and they will just find another populist figurehead to replace him with. And the next one might not be an 80 year old man with dementia who already wasn’t playing with a full deck. Americas entire political system needs reformation needs rebuilding.
