I am not a missile expert but do interceptors perform worse during the night? I would think they are working with IR sensors and whatnot, instead of plain camera.

At least Iranians seems to think so, since most of their „cycles“ happening during night. Or maybe they are trying to minimize the civilian casualties by hitting after-hours, where many are in their houses or shelters, but I have a feeling that both sides don’t give a shit about that civilians much.
