As a Midwesterner, I can confirm ‚Minnesota Nice‘ is absolutely a thing, and absolutely zero people will be upset with Walz if he fails to, ahem, keep up the Minnesota Nice persona with this phone call (if and when it does happen, it will only happen if 45 thinks it will make him look good, and the window has kinda passed for that).
I always get a chuckle when I see that he’s credited with making a balanced, empathetic social media post following an incident. I think to myself “how long before he opens his mouth on this and backtracks that PR shit?”
