Was watching one of Peter Mansbridge’s shows on YT (highly recommended) and it was mentioned that to count in the 2% GDP spend they would need to be armed.
When i first heard they were not armed a few years ago I was shocked. It made zero sense to me and it still makes zero sense to me.
You can have two purposes, one to help save and thr other to defend. They are not mutually exclusive.
The world is not a safe place, and asking nicely when you have nothing to back it up is useless. Less than useless.
I wonder what they are going to do with the crew. Are they going to be forced to go to become enlisted? I’m sure that would cause a slight exodus. The military pension is 25 years are they going to give that to the ccg crews?
