yes, cant remember the exact species name but its a viper, the only dangerous wild animal in cyprus, if untreated its venom can kill you but hospitals do have antivenom so usually its not that big of a problem.
Blunt-nosed viper for sure. Theoretically dangerous but no reported deaths for decades. I think there’s more snakes around this year than usual. Anyone else noticed this?

Our elders used to say that if a snake has a triangular head its a viper and you should stay away from them. So yes

A general rule with snakes in dry environments, large scales and triangular head means venomous, this rule changes in tropical locations. That snake has both and it’s 100% venomus

Yes, it looks like „Gufi“ (TC name) and is poisonous

Very dangerous, they usually hunt during night but you can encounter them during day too. Avoid dry/rocky areas with a lot of weeds or dry rivers, they ambush their prey so don’t expect them to move if you are near them. Extra careful if you have dogs, one venomous bite is enough to kill it

It’s thick and has triangle shaped head. Looks like a blunt nosed viper. One of the most poisonous snakes in Europe.

Yes, it was. Looks like a Cyprus Blunt-nosed viper due to triangular head, distinct from the neck.
They are quite easy to identify in Cyprus.

No if it’s fed halloumi 🙌

If the head is „V“ shaped, it’s poisonous. If it’s „U“ shaped, it isn’t.

It’s cool that there’s still fancy snakes around, now we just need to bring back mini hippos…and a stegosaurus
It’s a viper. Generally speaking it’s dangerous. But this one is dead.
