    1. I guess if you’re the wrong color you need to carry official ID at all times. And due process matters.

„He looked like someone we were looking for.“

You mean not white? How do you get anything but a basic look flying by in a car?

      >“I didn’t want to get my ID because as soon as I saw how they were dressed, I knew they weren’t police officers. I didn’t commit a crime and wasn’t driving,“ he said.

      >The ICE agents allegedly left Lemus in cuffs for 20-25 minutes, and confiscated his phone to prevent him from filming them. They eventually found his ID in his pockets.

      >“It was heartbreaking … it felt like my rights were just out the window,“ Lemus said.

      Because they were.

God damnit. Read exactly how this all went down. Can’t people see just how Nazi this is all becoming?

      From the article:

      >Lemus said he demanded the agents‘ name and badge number, but they refused to provide any identifying information, claiming they were „not authorized“ to do so.
      >
      >“I told them that I’m not authorized to give my ID then,“ Lemus said.

Everything that ICE has publicly done in the past month completely unmasks the whole Trump campaign promises of going after the bad guys as complete and utter BS. They go after the very people they claimed have little worry. Not terribly surprising considering that apprehension of criminals is not exactly easy and doesn’t come cheap ( criminals aren’t known for being cooperative). So, if you plan on running big numbers and to throw red meat to the bigots you go after ordinary working brown people. Its so fucking sad and pathetic

Don’t forget they threatened him saying „we have other ways to ID you and it won’t work out well for you“.

ICE and homeland security absolutely know what they are doing is illegal but they don’t care.

    7. I’m waiting for ICE to start picking up the judges who have said to ICE „Hey! You cannot that“ and the judge happens not to be lily white and/or not have a WASP name..

The title of this article makes it sound like Elzon Lemus was driving the car. But, he was not. He was in the passenger’s seat, which makes this all the more egregious. They saw a brown man in the passenger’s seat of a car and decided to stop him and demand to see his identification.

    9. If you do not look white, you have a good chance of the same thing happening to you.

Racial profiling **violates constitutional rights**, including the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection clause, which guarantees equal treatment under the law.

This was never about stopping violent crime, it has always been about terrorizing people for not being white.

this needs to go viral and sent to all Hispanic news outlets across the nation. „i’m looking for someone like you“ is BS – why not call it what it is – racial profiling. I sure hope someone finds the guy in the picture who was doing the racial profiling.

Isn’t there something about illegal search and seizure in the constitution?

Oh yeah, that doctrine is dead.

    13. >The ICE agents reportedly said that Lemus „looks like somebody we are looking for.“

Read: You all look the same to us.

    14. We need our bodies in the streets! 10s of thousands. 100s of thousands.

We need to be in the streets NOW in large numbers. Tomorrow must be massive.

    15. They’re worse than criminals. They’re *evil.* Crime is defined by the government. Evil is when you are cruel to human beings. The government can make cruelty legal but it will still be evil.

    16. „The ICE agents allegedly left Lemus in cuffs for 20-25 minutes, and confiscated his phone to prevent him from filming them. They eventually found his ID in his pockets.“

Right, they couldn’t find his ID sooner. I bet he doesn’t even look like who they’re looking for too.

    17. >detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents on his way to work because he ‘looked like’ someone they were searching for.

They were searching for brown people so he fit the criteria.

They’re not even hiding what the assignment is.

I have a feeling that Republicans may have Prop187’d themselves on a national scale. And if you don’t know what Prop 187 is, well, the backlash to that is a big part of why the state that brought us Nixon and Reagan now is a Democratic stronghold.

That’s why they hide their faces. Like the craven cowards they really are.

    20. Hispanic voters thinking Trump wouldn’t do this because “they’re the good ones”

      HE CONNED YOU.

This is how a fascist state operates but MAGA world says we all have TDS. Some fat fucker with a string of AR-15 clips across his chest stops any non-white.

    22. Read about the brownshirts in 1930s Nazi Germany

They bypassed local police and justice and did as the national government told them to. Local police and justice stood aside
