Pointedly a significant plurality of Americans also recognize that Israel is committing a genocide, present tense. The rest of the world is in much less denial. This will be one of the defining conflicts of the 21st century, the moment the west chose to shred it’s credibility on human rights.
I really think the whole „is it a genocide“ thing is such a massive distraction when discussing the issues here. Do I think what’s happening in Gaza is a genocide? No. I think it’s a fucked up war where Israel has committed numerous war crimes (granted, Hamas committed and is committing war crimes as well) but I don’t think it’s reasonable to call it a genocide. Israel was right to attack Gaza after October 7th and right to kill Hamas‘ leaders but at this point, there needs to be an actual attempt to stop this conflict from *both* sides.
All of the discussion for actual solutions gets lost in non nuanced „genocide“ talks where if you don’t believe Israel is committing a genocide, you’re a zionist shill.
