Good. They all should. And then they should follow through on some of their Law & Order rheotric and impeach the Taco Kid.

    2. Look at all the things he hasn’t improved, though he promised he would.

Look at all the things he has made worse, though he promised he wouldn’t.

Look at the chaos and the division and the fear he has created.

Look at the loss of respect from other countries.

But when 2026 rolls around, people will forget about all the times he flagrantly violated the law, they’ll forget about the horrible things he’s said and done, they’ll forget about all the broken promises, they ignore any economic hardships they’ve endured under his watch, and they’ll still vote conservative because a trans kid won a tetherball tournament in Iowa or some shit.

    3. > There will also be 18 miles of fencing and 175 metal detectors installed.

How much of that will later be removed?

How is this military parade in the best interest of the United-States…..right, it isn’t. It serves to fill an insatiable ego with self declared importance

    5. Missing_Username on

If it were Biden or Obama, *all* of them would be comparing it to North Korea

„If you don’t love dear leader Trump, then it’s boots on neck for you, because Jesus.“ -Conservatives

    7. Clownsinmypantz on

republicans can stop this at any time if they did the right thing. I dont believe shit until they vote with what they „claim“

    8. Trump could have just waited until the 250th anniversary of the country next year to have his parade. Instead he wanted one immediately and comes up with other BS anniversaries so he can sell the idea. In 2027 there will be another parade for some made up anniversary. And again in 2028. And so on forever until he’s out of office or otherwise.

    9. rock-n-white-hat on

How many cameras will be recording this parade? How much data from those recordings will get fed into AI? How easy will it then be to create fake videos that make it look like the military is attacking or being attacked when it’s not?

I hope the military is only using old equipment that is already well known to enemies of the US. Otherwise this parade will be a veritable espionage buffet for getting detailed images of US weaponry in order to identify any vulnerabilities or find clues to replicate the equipment.

The ones that took their professors and teachers advice, to learn history, should understand where it will go for them if they keep supporting the orange tyrant.

Nice of them to speak out now, less than a week before the event. This thing has been pushed for since the felon’s first term. Where were these bastions of fiscal responsibility during the first four year fuckfest?

    12. „Break ranks“ then votes for all his bullshit and won’t impeach him or vote to convict once impeached, rather.

Several generals have said that they were against the parade as it isn’t a way America has ever wanted to be seen by the world.

„We do not need to display our superiority or our military prowess for the world to know we are a Super Power.“

„A display of a military is an expression of a leaders ego and not an honor of the soldiers taking part.“

Countries like France have military parades because they had to expel invaders who had taken control and were forcibly removed. They celebrate their armies return to the streets of France and is NOT the celebration of the current leader in office.

Trump believes its his military, not America’s military, his military. Trump personally wants to be celebrated by a display of military might like he has earned it in some way.

He never served and cheated his way out of serving but that is how the Trump family has always operated. His father didn’t serve, his grandfather was an army deserter who fled and illegally migrated to America.

Let’s not forget that Trump told 4 Star General Kelly that Arlington Cemetery was full of „SUCKERS & LOSERS“.

You can’t say something like that and then claim to be having a parade in honor of the troops.

      Petty little prick isn’t he.

I cannot think of any free democracies that hold these military parades. It’s always authoritarian leaders who flex with the military

    15. Congrats. You are now his enemy, too. You knew this, but supported it anyway.

    16. NoobDirector on

Are any of them going to do anything to stop it or are they just going to put on a show?

    17. What’s wrong with North Korea. They have a very strong leader with a 100% approval rating.

    18. SilveryDeath on

Sums up the GOP that only a handful of senators are saying anything publicity, after doing nothing to stop it outside of this verbal pearl clutching, and that they only even did that until only a few days before the parade.

    19. With Lyndon Johnson there was social progress, so what did conservatives do? Elected Nixon.

    20. Must be 4pm. Someone let me know when they fall in line, because that’ll be nine o clock and I want to my sure my watch isn’t running slow.

    21. charleston-river on

The United States is not Russia or North Korea or China. We don’t need military parades to show our might!

Use that money for better benefits for current soldiers and our 20 years of veterans!

The 47th president is a joke!

    22. CrimsonHeretic on

Where’s he getting the money for it? Does Congress not control the purse?

      More performative cowardice.

    23. salmonchowder86 on

Oh they’ll come around. Every damn time, this is the headline, but then they get their marching orders and fall in line. They pretend to hate the thing they love, just like the closeted gays they are.

    24. All authoritarian regimes have a good Military parade. Russia’s is its Victory Day parade on May 9th, but no birthday parade for Putin. North Korea’s vary with no annual parade or Kim’s birthday. Military parades are usually held on quinquennial or decennial anniversaries (every 5 or 10 years) and/or jubilee years (ex: 25th anniversary, 40th anniversary, 50th anniversary, 60th anniversary, 70th anniversary). So America is unique in having a birthday celebration for its leader.

    25. HeyyyyAbbott on

The parade is the second most North Korean thing happening right now, maybe focus on the first one?

    26. I imagine trying to get ahead of the absolute mess this parade is gonna be is a smart move. The videos are gonna be insane even if it goes well, which it wont

    27. knottedthreads on

Aside from all the fascism and wasteful spending – who wants to watch a bunch of tanks roll down the street? It’s not fun or celebratory. It’s a scene from a war movie

    28. Head-Simple-3329 on

HMMM. If there where just some way congress could have stop this by not having the American people pay for it. 🤔😠🤬

    29. Rare-Bid-6860 on

SENATOR: I disapprove of this shit sandwich. Not good at all. Nosiree.

PRESS: So will you be eating it anyway?

      SENATOR: Absolutely.

    30. Imyoteacher on

Trump skipped military service, called service members losers, and cut their benefits. Now, he’s going to march their asses down Main Street like toy soldiers. The disrespect is Diabolical!!!

    31. You should compare it to North Korea because that’s the country that comes to mind.

Or how about Saddam Hussein in Iraq he used to do those.

Cadet bone spurs wants to have a parade because he didn’t actually serve.

    32. Heywood_Yabuzov on

#Turn out and turn your backs on the parade.

Peaceful, can’t be arrested, powerful visuals.

    33. Wow a Republican finally saw the light. One can only hope others will follow. But I doubt it they are glued to Fox News spilling its diarrhea about the facts!!

    34. Well then the GOP senators should *try stopping it* if they so oppose. They have all the power in the world right now, yes?

    35. DiscoDigi786 on

People are still falling for this shit. It is theater. A handful of senators will say something mildly critical and talk about how concerned they are, then continue voting in lockstep.

Moscow Mitch used this for *decades* to cover republican intransigence. Stop falling for it.
