    1. Hahahahahaha. Everything wrong with The Last of Us in one headline.

This is assuming there even *will be* a season three.

Neil Druckmann destroyed his franchise the moment he chose to have his main lead be brutally beaten to death and spat on for trying to protect a child from having her head cut open with a scalpel.

The Last of Us was Joel’s story. It began with Joel and his daughter. The story was about him finding a reason to live again in a surrogate daughter with Ellie.

His decision to save Ellie was the morally right decision. She was kept unconscious after the bus sank into the water and not made aware that the procedure would kill her. She wasn’t old enough to make that decision anyway and wasn’t consulted. Joel went in to save her.

And Abby’s dad threatened to kill Joel with a scalpel – he WAS armed. What Joel did was justified.

Bringing in this edgey new Mary Sue and killing off the series‘ core protagonist is just TWD all over again with killing off Carl and turning the focus to Negan.

I stopped watching after she became buzz lighter year that was the final straw

    3. I never played the games, so I had no idea why a group of Fireflys were so intimidated by their 5’2 100lb leader Abby. I didn’t learn that Abby was such a unit in the game until after S2 of the show.

The choice to use unimposing women actors (see Melanie Lynskey as Kathleen S1) as the leader of a group of killers is pretty jarring in these post apocalyptic settings.

They botched Ellie’s side of the second game. So hopefully it’s only up from here on out.

I loved the second game but season 2 was a pretty big misfire on a lot of characterization and story levels.

Kaitlyn Dever would be the perfect cast for Ellie, but she is no Abby. This show could have been great with a better casting.

I stopped watching Season 2 after the second episode and I won’t watch anymore.

Abby is probably my favorite character from anything of all time, so my biggest disappointment of the last season was the lack of her and the commitment to a non linear timeline, but getting a whole season about her later makes up for it.

Either you watch the show, game xp or not, and knew that or you don’t and it means nothing.

I don’t know anyone who likes the way that they approached Ellie’s story in this season. It was such a contrast to her game counterpart.

Game Ellie was absolutely dead set on avenging Joel that she literally abandons everyone and everything to kill Abby. It consumes her as a person. In the show, she’s literally cheery on her murder quest. She has a few moments of sadness but she is literally laughing and making bad jokes with Dina. It just feels weird.

The first season was good but man the second one is fucking rough.

Seeing as Dever is a much more phenomenal actress than Bella, if the writers aren’t still microdosing hallucigens when they write this season up, it will/should be much better. It’ll be hard to screw it up as much as season 2, so at least they have that going for them.
