I canvased neighborhoods for Harris and was always surprised at how many Hispanic voters supported Trump. I remember one person kept asking me where Harris was going to hang the Rosary in the White House. After I mentioned that Trump wasn’t Catholic he replied that his wife was. I am willing to bet she hasn’t spent a single night in that place since Jan 20. There is a real disconnect between who Trump actually is and who a lot of people think he is.

They voted for the demonization of all immigrants. „They’re not sending their best“ and other bigoted attacks against Hispanics is how he opened his campaign in 2015, he started his first term with travel bans and kept beating the drums of xenophobia throughout, and a blood libel about pet-eating foreigners was a key component of last year’s campaign.
Trump is a known entity, he’s a racist, xenophobic, fascist, white supremacist. Anyone who is somehow genuinely surprised by his behavior is an idiot.

I find it hard to sympathize when the agenda was clear, but I will say they are going after legal immigrants to which is certainly something that these folks probably didn’t suspect. And just today you have idiots like Matt Walsh and Charlie Kirk taking their masks off and proclaiming it’s time to end all „third world“ immigration, legal or otherwise.
Deporting Green Card holders and doing the old „superbowl ticket trap“ inviting documented immigrants in for citizenship hearings only to deport them because of a paperwork error is beyond the pale even for Trump.
And why ABC suspended its writer for calling Stephen Miller out for the piece of human filth that he is is also rather troubling.
