he’s contrasted some imagined warrior culture with an imagined wokeness which he seems to equate with basic decency. he’s been saying this ding dong stuff for awhile now.
so i guess he’s into the rampant sexual (and other forms of) harassment in canada that has pushed people away from being involved in the military.
dude has no clue.

I read an interesting article the other week about [„the rise of American bushido.“](https://secretaryrofdefenserock.substack.com/p/the-rise-of-american-bushido) Essentially a look at how this kind of „warrior culture“ has emerged in the US military and how this is not exactly an encouraging development.
It’s hard to extrapolate exactly what Poilievre means by this – you could spin it a number of ways, more positively or negatively as you wish. I think to a certain extent there is a point to be made that yes, the armed forces‘ most fundamental mission is to cultivate the ability to wage war and defend Canadian territory. And there certainly seems to have been over the past decade a shift away from that both materially and culturally under the Liberals. But it’s hard not to be a bit skeptical about this kind of verbiage.

Is this the warrior culture that led to the Canadian Airborne Regiment disbandibg? I guess killing an unarmed Somali teenager and then leaking numerous videos of the CAR tradition of hazing members is not warrior enough for Pierre Poilievre? Maybe the racists and neo nazis hidden in the ranks of the CAR is what Poilievre is looking for as Pierre Poilivere attended the „trucker“ convoy which flew a Swastika flag.

If he keeps going at it like this, the CPC are going to have a real divide in the party. At least in my opinion, which isn’t much. I just think there’s still a big group of PC types who are already frustrated that Poilievre hasn’t fired Jenni Byrne, and now this sort of culture war BS keeps coming out while the LPC eats the PC’s lunch, it’s gonna really impact a leadership vote (I think scheduled for March?). I don’t know, there must be some friction there?

He really needs to stop using lines from the Trump administration. You’d think losing the election in part over stuff like that would have made him think twice.

Always the softest men going on about „warrior culture“. Between him and Jordan Peterson I doubt they could start a fire if they had a matchbook and gasoline.
