Maybe it would take hiring 10,000 or more administrative law judges to hear all the cases and clear the backlog over a period of years. Even at a cost of $250K per year per judge to include the cost of employee benefits, this is only $2.5 billion for the judges. Triple or quadruple the cost to include the cost of legal representation for immigrants. You wind up with a cost of 60 F-35s per year.15 F-35s for the judges alone.

My estimate of the amount of expansion of the administrative law courts needed to give immigrants due process may be high, but it seems cheap in comparison to the cost of midnight extraditions and transportation to nations where the people deported have no ties.
