She was not “just struck”
you can see the guy wait till her back is turned, raise his weapon and deliberately fire at her leg.
You can see the dude raise the gun and aim. This is what tRump wants so he can justify a good old fashioned human rights violating crack down.
And people act surprised that violence escalates when police are randomly shooting at people.
Clearly she was the “insurrectionist” that I been hearing about.
I’m sure there’s a lawyer in LA who is willing to file a personal lawsuit against the shooter. Let him prove it was a justified attack.

There isn’t a shred of ambiguity about what happened.

Irony is that she works for a right-wing media outlet that has been aggressive in praising Trump.

Every discharge of a weapon should be logged in these situations. A “lost count of rubber bullets” should result in suspension pending full internal review.

In the video, you can actually see the officer pointing his rifle in her direction and shooting. It was a deliberate act. She was standing with other reporters and not menacing anyone.
The cop should be easily identified and disciplined/punished.

So far, the defenses I’ve heard for it are:
„It’s just a rubber bullet“
„Journalists have to go into active combat zones all the time, and it’s not big deal“
„Why was she getting in the way? Clearly she was asking for trouble“

These people say they’re gonna get rid of all the illegal immigrants cause they’re a bunch of rapists and murderers. Meanwhile all I’ve seen is him deport a bunch of working class immigrants, teachers, cooks, laborers, a couple US citizens (insane), and people who have had their visas cancelled for political and xenophobic purposes.
I’m all for getting actual national security threats or murderers booted out of here. But the reason I didn’t vote for the guy is I knew what was actually going to happen – we’re going to lose innocent workers and everyday people who help keep this crude machine called America running.
If you genuinely believe that:
A) All illegal immigrants are rapists and murderous crazed criminals (xenophobic generalization)

That officer identified her as a member of the media and made the deliberate choice to open fire on her.

“Officer appears to deliberately shoot reporter” would be a perfectly acceptable and more accurate headline. It protects the paper from a suit because they don’t claim his intention, they simply describe what appears to have happened.
This headline falls incredibly short of describing what happened.
“Shot at intentionally by police officer in riot gear”, there, fixed your headline. Cowards.
“Struck”?! Watch the video and you’ll see that pig look over, aim, and fire right at her. Disgusting journalism from the dailybeast, and that cop needs to be charged and arrested immediately
