    1. >“After a prolonged battle with COPD and other underlying health issues, Sly passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three children, his closest friend, and his extended family,“ his family said in a statement. „While we mourn his absence, we take solace in knowing that his extraordinary musical legacy will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come.“

Like McJagger, this is one of those dude’s that somehow survived the insane drug fueled 70s music scene to live a long accomplished life. Few of us will pass as such. RIP to a titan.

Recently saw a documentary about him. There was a lot going on with him. He was very progressive and smart guy. Wanted to have a racially and sexually balanced band.

He was role model and inspiration for many. Prince borrowed a bunch from him.

    4. I know he had it rough a few years ago. It’s sounds like his last years were a little easier on him. RIP to a legend.

The documentary Sly Lives! (aka the Burden of Black Genius) is great.
