      > But the dog’s owner has now blamed the child for the incident, while insisting his ‘teddy bear’ pet, named Harry, was just defending his home.

      > Antonio was reportedly playing outside with Mr Eccles’ partner’s son and was going in to get a drink when he was attacked by the dog.

Child falsely assumes that it is safe to go into his friend’s house.

Owner of this dog is a dangerous unfeeling scumbag if he thinks it is the child’s fault.

    2. After reading the article it doesn’t sound like either the child nor the dog were at fault but the dog’s owner. I hope that the dog passes the test so it won’t be killed because he was the least at fault in this situation.

    3. If he didn’t want to be attacked he should have worn protective clothing, he was just asking for it

Put it down. No animal’s life should be placed over that of a human’s.

I’m very much of the „dangerous owners, not dangerous breeds“ mentality, and that owner looks like a right twat.

I don’t want to stereotype the moronic owners of this kind of dog, but if I was going to I’d use this dog’s moronic owner as a template.

Should be charged with GBH/Attempted Murder as if he’d mutilated the kid himself. After all it’s the owner not the breed, right? Why do the owners of these dogs always look and act exactly as you’d expect? 🙄

    8. I will say it again, loudly for the people at the back. **We should license dog owners and register dogs**, banning specific breeds after ‚enough‘ people have been seriously injured or killed is a sticky plaster treating the symptoms and not the cause, which is a mixture of potentially dangerous breeds, and unfit owners. Such a measure would also go some way to tackling animal welfare, abusive and irresponsible owners, and illegal puppy mills.

I’ve had it up to HERE with the self entitlement of these dog owners. Any dog that harms someone else when it’s unprovoked should be put down the next day, end of story. I’m tired of dog owners who treat their barking monsters as children and use their dogs as personal weapons. Dogs acts just like their owners. Asshole owner, asshole dog.

These dogs are owned by the stupid and/or selfish, so of course they blame others.

Even if this kid drop kicked this guys dog it’s his responsibility to have his dog under control at all times.

INB4: *They’re Nanny Dogs!! It’s the owner not the breed, Chihuahuas bite more people*.

No. They have been selectively bred for fighting to the death. A Chihuahua can be easily kicked away, and the bite can be treated with some TCP and a big plaster rather than intensive care and major reconstructive surgery.

Owner is an ass. Dogs should have been secured they have been failed by owner.

Owners should be charged as if they carried out the attack themselves.

Even if the child is somehow to blame for something they did, how the fuck does that absolve the owner and the dog?
