I read the article yesterday, and OPs title could be read to infer that Henley was inherently difficult on a personal level. This isnt the case, really. Benmont says it was hard because Henley wanted a note for note playing of something Tench lacked context with, and it is hard for Tench to do
In the video accompanying the “Hell Freezes Over” release, there is a scene where there is a full orchestra backing up a song and Henley stopped it because he could hear one member playing the wrong note.
Isn’t there a whole underage girl drug death at his house back in the day?
