This looks like it’s a problem with the planning system. Significant alterations have been made with no permission. The prevailing view seems to be that it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission and, as I understand it, planning and appeals can take years to resolve. During this time they have use of what was once a field and is now a big car park.
The same happened in Burtonwood recently, so maybe one of the fears is that this becomes a commonplace way of skirting planning laws.
Ultimately, laws are only useful if they are enforced in a timely manner.
There needs to be a crack down on those who deliberately flout planning regulations in this way.
There so few official stopping sites with facilities with waiting lists. This kind of activity wouldn’t be issue if we gave more options for nomadic living which not only travellers would gain from but others who want to live off rv lifestyle or more remote
