The movie was incredibly moving, for multiple truths. I didn’t expect any of it, but it really gives those two hours an unforgettable substance. Hearing more from the Choctow leverages that exponentially. Terrific write-up.

I don’t think the movie needs any kind of sequel, but if they wanted to explore the Choctaw characters more I would be down for that.

This movie was so dumb. Remmick wanted Sammie’s interdimensional musical power to commune with his long-dead ancestors, but also wanted to wipe out the KKK and turn everyone into vampires?
I was so much more interested in the first half of the movie. I almost walked out when I saw a Jimi Hendrix lookalike and modern R&B dancers twerking to delta blues. It felt like three movies mashed into one 2 hour runtime. Bummer.
