When I see so many „christians“ support this asshole… I thank Gawd I’m an Atheist. The religious folks are not doing their churches any favors by supporting him. But hey… That’s your right.
Trump is too lazy and incompetent to be The Antichrist. He’s certainly AN antichrist, though. And he may be laying the groundwork for worse.

Trump’s ex-wife reported that he kept a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kampf at his bedside, while he has made a litany of racially bigoted statements during his life in the public eye. Trump has used his power as President to pardon corrupt politicians of both parties who are like-minded in grift and double-dealing, Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of felony financial crimes and was found civilly liable for rape. If there were still doubts about his character, he is on tape describing the sexual harassment of women on the Access Hollywood tape. I’m not sure about who is an anti-Christ, but he definitely is not good people. His track to high office was fueled by the darkness of indifference, embitterment, and hate.

I’m an atheist, but if Christianity is true then yeah he’s the anticrhist. He loves each of the 7 deadly sins, and his admin seems to have the singular goal to cause as much famine, pestilence, war and death as possible.

I’m a Christian and I really liked this whole piece, especially this quote. No one is perfect, so obviously everyone is going to make mistakes and do bad things sometimes. But Christians need to try to improve instead of doing the same bad things over and over. You can’t use the phrases „no one is perfect“ and „God uses imperfect people“ to excuse what trump does, because he’s not trying to improve. He’s just getting worse. He has become a more evil, awful person over time. Same with the people who are in his administration.
By the way, as I read the description of how Christian nationalism is affecting our government and promoting things that go against Biblical values…

…I also thought of russia, because russia is doing the same thing. They describe their war against Ukraine as a „holy war“ to get rid of the „satanists“ in Ukraine. And the „church“ in russia is a false form of Christianity that supports the war.

I don’t believe in an antichrist but it does seem wild that anyone could and not think it would be Trump.
I honestly cannot fathom his success otherwise without supernatural assistance.
Trump is in every aspect an exact inversion of christ and embodiment of each of the seven deadly sins who encourages the worst and most un-christlike behavior from his followers who worship him literally as a golden idol above god or goodness. You don’t have to be christian or religious or believe in anything supernatural to understand the archetype and how well trump embodies it.

I won’t say that trump isn’t the antichrist. In my misplaced youth, I read several of Hal Lindsey’s books. I’d always envisioned the antichrist as being handsome, charismatic and brilliant. None of those words describe the orange blob but he did acquire a shambolic, mindless zombie horde who will walk into lava if his oranginess commands it.

As a Christian, it is chilling. It shows that these „pastors“ who have taken his side have no spiritual discernment. That is, they are not guided by the indwelling Holy Spirit, nor do they even have enough awareness to recognize an obvious parallel of wording.
Trump’s offer is so close to Satan’s as to be a deliberate mockery. When I read it in the Times article, it was almost like a physical blow, and the writer didn’t even draw the parallel himself. I can only conclude that those who claim to believe and know the Bible, and yet follow Trump, are either in deliberate rebellion against Christ or are spiritually dead. Trump himself may not be „the Antichrist“, but those who claim to be Christians and yet follow him certainly are.
Self reflection and Christianity do not usually find themselves in company in the modern Evangelical and, especially, Southern Baptist, church. It is a license to bully, judge, whine, and justify it all with a persecution complex. Trump could do a press conference with horns coming out his head and flames coming out of his eyes – they would still worship his every word.

The really crazy part is that there’s a subset of people that hope he is because it will bring the end times and they’ll be able to go to heaven.
Of all 340 million Americans alive today, I can think of no one who better fits the bill than Trump.
I can’t think of any public figure that is so much the opposite of everything Jesus stands for. So yes he is literally the anti-Christ
