My mommy and daddy taught me to read over 70 years ago. I still read and retain information, and process the information skeptically. Sorry MAGAts, I guess remedial reading is in your future.
I’m curious as to how MTG found out what she voted for. Did she read the bill after she voted for it, did somebody else read it and tell her, or is she just lying again?

Congress is a sad joke. The vast majority of the members don’t do their jobs aka. the will of the people. They fill their bank accounts to the brim and make financial contacts for post DC instead.

Tbf (not that the GOP deserves it but) this is *ridiculously* common in our government. To the point where I’d wager the majority of bills that get signed or rejected in our country are the result of cliffs notes written by staffers. Which isn’t entirely surprising, a 70 year old human isn’t reading thousands of pages of legal jargon in a week, much less a day er two. The real problem is *why* (aside from being the same age as the crypt keeper).
To be clear: this is a symptom of a system of government where your „representatives“ vote yes or no based on whether or not their corporate backers support a bill or not. They don’t read them because they don’t need to, they just need to know if the billionaires who regularly fill their campaign coffers want it to pass or not.

Honestly, I’m more shocked to find out that MTG places any value on reading whatsoever.
It’s all bullshit. The response to the bill has been wildly negative from basically everyone including conservative groups and they believe being honest about their incompetence is less damaging than backing a bill they already voted in favor of.
Is this the OMG moment for a bunch of the Congress? We tried to tell you. Your town halls more than voiced their displeasure. That should have given you the heads-up Publicly. I don’t want to say DUH, but you are forcing our hand.
I don’t know what’s worse, the section of Congress who refuse to leave and literally die on the job, or the section of Congress who fail at doing the most basic of things when given a position of duty.

MTG’s shock was only over states not being able to regulate AI for 10 years; she’s cool with everything else.
I mean of all things to be upset about in this bill, that this was the one red line for her demonstrates the lack of care for her constituents.
Just trying to claim Plausible Deniability. I was in and out of Hungary for work over 5 years when Orban was taking over Hungary, destroying the judiciary and opposition parties. I remember plenty of times reading of politicians unaware of what he was doing or seeing no issue with it, fixing the broken system they would say. You guys are in a very dark place

Who slammed the 1000 pages together for Trump? Who pushed it through the Senate? Sounds like someone’s taking someone’s word without checking. Sounds like someone’s using AI and knowing that most people won’t bother to read. Did they just find out when the literate Democrats responded to it?
All these Republicans are puppets. Why do they need to know what’s in the bill? Their masters just ordered them to vote for it
GOP/MAGA reps are a joke. They are admitting it here. Trump just told them to vote for it, so they did. That’s not a representative.
