Hallo zusammen,

    Ich habe einen Artikel von außerhalb Europas bestellt, und obwohl ich die Steuer während des Kaufs bereits bezahlt habe, wurde mein Paket in den letzten zwei Wochen im Zoll gehalten. Leider habe ich keine Benachrichtigung von POSTI erhalten, wahrscheinlich weil der Absender meine E -Mail -Adresse beim Versand des Pakets nicht enthalten hat.

    Es scheint, dass ich mich direkt an Posti wenden muss, um das Problem zu lösen und mein Paket zu erhalten. Trotz mehrerer Versuche konnte ich sie nicht per Chat oder Telefon erreichen.

    Meine Fragen sind: • Wie kann ich tatsächlich mit Posti in Kontakt aufnehmen? • Wenn ich sie überhaupt nicht erreichen kann, wie können ich das Paket immer noch erhalten (als Rückkehr ist es nicht ideal – ich brauche es wirklich)?

    1. You most likely need to pay Posti handling fee. Which should be doable by the app if you have the tracking.

      But also Posti is going through some shit right now. But I would call them

    2. They are currently very busy with kazillion packages in hold because new eu customs directive.

      I doubt you can other than wait and see if system contacts you or sends the shipment pack.

      Keep a close eye on your mailbox.

      You just need to wait for the chat to connect. I think I waited for about 30 minutes a few days ago.

    4. Do you have the tracking number? You can fill the customs declaration directly with customs or try to use it with registering your delivery either Oma Posti and let them do it.

      Former will be around 3€ cheaper. Just the tracking number should be enough.

      Spamming the contact chat button (like refresh/connect) has worked for me couple of times as ridiculous as it sounds.

      Other than that good luck. Posti will be pain in the ass when things go sideways.

    7. I had a similar situation a few days ago. I had ordered something from outside of Europe. For what ever reason the sender didn’t include my phone number. So the customs people couldn’t reach me via phone – they did send a letter about it but it actually got lost among our other mail. I looked at the tracking and it showed it hadn’t moved for a few days – so l called up Posti (when you call you can press numbers to choose which branch you want to talk to) and they informed me it was in customs and I had to pay the fee. I could pay this fee from the Finnish customs website by using the tracking code and by logging in. I did just that, and a few days later I got my package. Perhaps your situation is similar? Have you paid the customs fee?

      I’m not entirely certain what you mean by saying you couldn’t reach Posti by phone. That’s how I found out – I just had to press a button to choose which branch I was calling when prompted. You could just try checking out the customs website tulli.fi and see if you find anything with your parcels tracking number. Another option is to find a Posti office and ask in person.

      I don’t know if any of what I said is helpful at all but I hope you manage to sort this out.

      A small edit: even if you paid the tax when you ordered it it’s still possible they want you to declare it somehow. You may not have to pay anything but try to log in and see if you see any options to somehow say that it’s already been paid.

    9. I had similar experience some time ago.
      My package from UK had taxes/VAT paid at Time of purchase. The item arrived at March and Omaposti told that The things were paid, but Then it was still directed to customs for me to declare. I tried declaring it with Tulli, but The tracking number said it was already Been paid or wrong tracking. Managed to talk to posti via Chat, and was told it was indeed already paid but some other info was missing by The sender so they have to wait for info. And that they were super busy and jammed by different parcels.
      Then 15.5 it finally changed that it had cleared customs and posti handling fee was done and should be soon on its way.
      It still hasnt arrived and no new updates on The tracking 😅
      But atleast it was not returned to sender

      So try and see what The tulli site says and then chat with posti More

      Dealing with Posti regarding *any* parcels coming outside the EU is pain in the ass. It doesn’t matter, if you have paid taxes and duties during the purchase or declared the parcel to the Finnish Customs yourself. Posti will most likely screw the delivery, or at least it will have severe delays. In my experience, that chat is the least bad option to contact them, but it might not be enough.

      If possible, I strongly recommend using any other courier when buying from outside EU. Unfortunately often we do not have a choice. It is really annoying, as the Customs are always easy to deal with, but Posti is the difficult party.

      We are on the same boat. Unfortunately I am not able to provide you any advice, but you are not alone with the issue.
