I hope this drops domestic flights , its robbery, and quite frankly, it hurts our economy. Hoping the government revisits the taxes on them but at the same time , our airlines are crooks.
I’ve traveled across this country twice a year for over 10 years to help my grandparents maintain their way of living as they have aged and its a financial sacrifice to do so .
Im fortunate enough to be able to afford it and have a flexible career that allows me to move around with fluctuations in price .How many people cant , and how many people would be more like to move for housing affordability or careers if they could afford to go home to be with family more often .
Its a major barrier in a country that is huge with many different market conditions in both affordability and career access. Let’s make it easier for people to take advantage of this asset .
Am I crazy or are the numbers quoted not particularly impressive here? A what, 3.8 percent dip in travel to the states from this time last year if I skimmed correctly? Thats almost small enough to be considered variance. I understand it’s airports and not all border crossings but still.
Did I read this incorrectly or are we patting ourselves on the back for basically nothing? I know it’s impactful but I expected more than a sub 5 percent drop almost 6 months in to get fucked around. Is this percentage even increasing month to month because it felt much high a few months ago. This is Reddit so I’ll just keep talking outta my butt instead of fact checking any of this for myself.
