tldr; JD Vance, speaking at Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas, expressed optimism about cryptocurrency, calling it ‚ground-up innovation‘ that benefits millions. He predicted 100 million people will own Bitcoin soon and described crypto as a hedge against poor policies, inflation, and discrimination. Vance criticized regulatory actions like Operation Chokepoint 2.0 and vowed that a Trump administration would not hinder the crypto community, emphasizing the rejection of ‚weaponized regulators‘ like Gary Gensler.

JD Vance is also a dumbass and I’m not taking his or anyone else’s word in this administration until shit actually happens.

    5. New to crypto currency, haven’t invested yet, on the fence, and am trying to understand why crypto fans are so against government support? Is it because of a social network aspect of crypto where the community desire is to do everything indefinitely peer to peer, like torrent file sharing or something? Government of the world’s strongest economy backing crypto wouldn’t help achieve some of the goals sought in the community, such as wider acceptance? Anyway, I am new to the topic, but read the Blockchain white paper, understand down to code algorithm level how crypto is scheduled, mined, transacted, recorded, network safeguarded, but the thing I can’t quite figure out is why crypto is supposed to be this parallel track (among millions if not billions of anonymous strangers) not tied to government support. In this sense I get it, that it is a social contract, but per this contract who adjudicates important questions and implementation decisions, and what is it about this multinational non state entity that should give me high confidence in their ability to decentrally regulate something of such vast, historical importance? If „the people“ support crypto and a government supports crypto, isn’t that the sort of democratic representation that people tend to desire or is one of the ultimate goals of crypto a non democratic but benign dictatorship (maybe AI based) style of governance? I think my questions are pretty f’ing interesting, so hope to read interesting, well thought out replies! Thanks
