GOP under democrats: they are not giving us time to read the whole bill! This is the trick they play on us!

GOP under republicans: I skimmed it.

His defense is that he didn’t know what was in the bill he was voting for? Seriously? And he’s wondering why a room full of people were shaking with rage?

      Who is this fuckup?

    3. He said he didn’t see the part about courts? Lmao what a liar. It’s their responsibility to read through this stuff to ensure their constituents are not being ignored.  It’s pretty obvious they fully intended on throwing that in there.

***From Rolling Stone’s Nikki McCann Ramirez:***

Republican Rep. Mike Flood appeared before his constituents in Nebraska on Tuesday for a town hall that turned ugly as he tried to defend President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” the reconciliation package the House of Representatives passed last week, and which is expected to force millions of Americans off their health care coverage and food aid.

Unfortunately, Flood hadn’t actually read the bill.

Did he reply to the Doge email of five things he did last week? Reading the bill wasn’t on the list so what did you do.

Unknown to him, yet widely reported before the vote. He and his compatriots are an active threat to the Union.

I can guarantee that almost all of them haven’t read it and those that read it don’t understand what they read.

Any other job they’d be fired.

      > not going to hide the truth.
But also not going to accept any responsibility for his mistake or try to fix it. Easy to admit something and then quickly try to shift the topic.

    9. Hey, they not paid enough to read. They just are paid enough to sign. Isn’t that ridiculous? They choose not to read legislations that can easily impact millions and causes possible heartaches even death, but they just sign it. I can’t imagine someone putting a legislation on somebody’s desk and just saying let me just sign it. Give away my fortune.

So weird… like, I want them to keep doing town halls,  it’s the right thing to do.  But there’s literally no point if he’s not going to listen to constituents.  And he can’t be doing it to win *them* over, because I don’t see how he could possibly think that „I didn’t read the bill“ is convincing voters that you know what you’re doing.

    11. Hey Nebraska, are you going to vote his ass out of office? Nope, you’ll vote GOP anyway and continue to watch Fox News.

If anyone acted like this at my job, they’d be on a final written warning. Literally the guys job is to read bills and vote. That’s why these people need to be making less money- they should all be making what the median single person income is in the U.S.

    13. Fox headline: ”Patriot congressman’s town hall disrupted by deranged Antifa communists in a violent terrorist attack!”

    14. Foucaultshadow1 on

This is why Republicans won’t do town halls. Flood is from a deep red district in Nebraska and if he’s getting raked over the coals there, Republicans are in trouble.

    15. royale_wthCheEsE on

He knew what was in it even if he didn’t read it. There was enough news coverage highlighting the most egregious parts of this bill. They are just bootlicking cowards.

“I’m not a facist, I just blindly do what the facists tell me to do”-Mike Flood probably

**Republicans:** I’m mad as hell! Just wait till mid-terms!

**Same Republicans:** I guess I’ll keep voting for this guy cause at least he isn’t a Democrat!

    18. Mike Flood typically only does deep red town halls. He’s not used to having actual questions, must less hard questions. It’s not a surprise that he didn’t have answers. He just doesn’t have the experience knowing how to answer hard questions, because his handlers make sure he’s never in that position.

    19. NotTheRightHDMIPort on

I think th easier answer for some (most) Republicans is that’s its a bunch of hand selected yes men.

He doesn’t actually know what he’s voting for. Thats not why he was elected.

People really should not be shocked at this point especially with Republicans. They aren’t there to make your life better

    20. No_Size9475 on

“This provision was unknown to me when I voted for the bill. OK? Next question, next question,” Flood added

So why the fuck are you voting on a bill when you don’t even understand what is contained in the bill?

I hope they don’t choke while sucking his dick next time he’s up for reelection.
