Stephen Miller “laid into” immigration officials for not arresting enough people during a fiery meeting about super-charging Trump’s mass-deportation effort.

Sources told Axios that the White House deputy chief of staff is unhappy with the pace at which criminals are being rounded up and deported.

Miller reportedly lost it during a meeting in which he ordered ICE officers to triple their arrests—and two sources said they believed their jobs were in “jeopardy” if they failed to comply. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was also at the explosive meeting, though she reportedly maintained her cool.

And so ICE goes out and rounds up nonviolent or even legal immigrants – because they’re easy to find and low risk to apprehend. I’m sure that out of the entire country there are some unsolved violent crimes by immigrants, but finding them is *way* slower, you’ll never get your numbers up that way. You want numbers, you go for the low-hanging fruit.

That’s why they’re taking tourists too. Like fish in a barrel.

„There’s too many illegal immigrants!“ Remember during the election when Trump and Vance were claiming impossible number of „illegal immigrants – there’s 20 million, 30 million, 50 million of them taking your jobs and causing all the crime and eating the dogs and cats and ducks!“

And now **once again** when you actually look:

* DOGE did not find any fraud. Zero. How do we know? Becuase nobody is getting charged for fraud and every study shows that medicare fraud on the individual level is rare – and far more common to be instutitional (aka Rick Scott)
* There aren’t huge number of illegal immigrants – but we **do** have an immigration problem by not funding enough judges to process applications, and a **bigger** problem of (once again) instititions like businesses exploiting illegal immigrants **so they don’t have to pay US citizens a fair wage with health and safety precautions**, and if we really want to support farmers we’d stop giving billions of money to defense contractors and spend money on health care and making sure they have enough to pay people to pick all the food and care for all the animals people eat **at a livable wage**.
* And while I’m on a roll, turns out delaying gender affirming care and hormones to teenagers is **not** beneficial based on the study conservitives said they needed – and now that it shows that „Turns out people are healthier if you let their doctor and therapists listen to them and help them – and if that includes gender affirming care its better for them than preaching JESUS HATES YOU FOR BEING A TRANS PERSON.“ But **once fucking again** reality does not support their beliefs.

So that’s why Stephen Miller is screaming at people. There just aren’t enough illegal immigrants for ICE to round up to prove his numbers right, even when they try legal tricks like „Oh we’ll cancel legal proceedings in court against an immigrant then arrest them for being here illegally anyway to pump up the numbers.“

But what the fuck do I know. I’m not the one who voted for the fraud convicted rapist who said he was a good businessman who went bankrupt multiple times while having 5 kids by 3 women and cheating on them. So fuck me, I guess.

And they are still just getting the low hanging fruit.  Wait to see the costs of enforcement when immigrants stop showing up to hearings so they are not arrested and deported.

It is going to cost us $4T to round up 12 million people.

Could have just sunk $ into ramping up the judicial, kept the productive immigrants and avoided deporting Mom or Dad leaving us to care for a family down an income.

Miller is obviously a world champion in the „who’s a piece of shit?“ contest, but honestly I think this highlights a huge problem in politics, particularly on the conservative side but kind of all over.

You’ll hear „government commits to slashing budget by 20%“ or „we’re going to reduce waste by 50 million“ and it sounds good, but the numbers are pulled out of thin air to sound good and don’t mean anything.

Why xx%? Why xxxx dollars? Why xxxx number of immigrants? They choose the numbers because it makes a good sound bite and not because they looked at actual information and determined that was a correct amount.

Couple that with the fact that people dramatically overestimate how much is spent on things like USAID, food stamps, education, etc. and you have a recipe for people clutching their pearls and wailing about „waste“ that doesn’t even exist.

This „senior advisor“ to the POTUS is openly hard-core racist.
