Any student with a basic knowledge of history can see these parallels. These guys are not as smart as they need us to believe.

No matter how many people raise the alarm about Trump emulating far-right tyrants, and working to consolidate power, those warnings are waved off and treated like it’s some hyperbolic sensationalism. But this isn’t hyperbole. These are legitimate warnings about the unquestionable actions of this man. He really is a wannabe tyrant. He really believes that he is above the Constitution. He really believes that he’s not subject to our system of checks and balances. He issues absurd Executive Orders like the edicts of Julius Caesar’s day rather that bothering to promote legislation. None of this is normal. And despite being frogs in a slowly boiling pot of water, we have to keep reminding ourselves just to how abnormal it is.
