To his credit, authoritarianism is awful for the economy. So are trade wars, $5trill deficits and reduced public benefits.
It’s also plausible that Trump is trying to crash the economy to get rates low.
It’d be hard to be the US fed chair right now.
Trump’s meltdown on this will be epic.
IIRC, a recent SCOTUS ruling said the President can fire any agency head, save the Federal Reserve. Hate to see how this will turn out.
