That’s a great idea, Don-Don…pick a fight with an institution that produces the best lawyers in the world.

Or….and hear me out…..they can sell that useless jet…..cancel the authoritarian birthday parade…..and not build a „golden dome“ widget…..without revoking the grants.

Thaty way, we have MORE citizens educated and trained.

    3. Union trade schools who teach about collective bargaining and how to fight for and protect your rights along with the trade craft?

    4. Under what authority?

Those grants were authorized by Congress for specific purposes. They ere competitively bid by cognizant agencies. Under whee as t twisted interpretation of the law would trade schools get the money?

In a month or two the courts will rule against Trump. For that month or two Trump will dominant the news cycles. This is why he is doing it.

What is he trying to hide? Report on that.

Trump proving he would never actually attempt to help anyone unless it was primarily to hurt someone else

    6. whoever says this is a good idea is fucking braindead. sure, it would be nice to have more investment in trade schools but stealing money from one to give to another is in no way, shape, or form a ‚good‘ thing and hurts the us more than it helps. just like every other hairbrain idea from king windowlicker.

Most states already pay for trade school if you promise to work in that state for a certain amount of time.

Not that I expect any Trumpanzees to get that.

Pretty bananas that not a single paper seems to be calling on Republicans in congress to even try to enforce laws or do any job legislating. We really are going to lose our democracy and the 4th estate will have rolled on its belly and waited for a knife to plunge into its stupid soft underside.

      Truly incredible.

If you think trade schools need more funding why is it not included in your „big beautiful bill“?

What’s funny is how many MAGA are going to be for this but where against Obama making community colleges and trade schools free which was around $6 Billion a year to do.

I would have no problem doing this if Congress reallocated the funds, but it can’t be done by the white house on Trump’s attempt to bully Harvard.

    11. It’s interesting how many people seem to think that these attacks against Harvard are some kind of W for working class people. Maybe because they see Harvard as synonymous with „the elite“.

In reality this would just be a W for a fascist administration by establishing precedent that if it can attack Harvard for its resistance to executive overreach then it can attack any university for not bending the knee to any overreach attempt.

Given the rest of his platform I find it baffling that people think Trump is opposing „the elites“ in any meaningful way.

Coverage loves to talk about federal grants as if the fed is just handing these universities money. The majority of federal funding to these universities is for research and the government explicitly benefits from these research programs. What’s more, it’s how we attract and retain the most innovative researchers. To put in terms the red hats can understand: this move would literally make the country dumber, less innovative, and more likely to fall behind in technological development.

    13. Great, then the trade schools can research cures for cancer or Alzheimer disease. Because these grants are not for Harvard as a whole, they are to fund specific scientific research projects that are done at Harvard.

The way you know it’s dictatorship is that the government is being used to target a specific organization completely outside of the law.

I’m all for funding trade schools but why not fund them in your “big beautiful bill” ?

    16. We should fund both. We need educated people and tradespeople.

Edit: just realized this might come off wrong, not saying tradespeople are dumb or uneducated

    17. Trade schools and schools of “higher” learning do different things. They both do important things that deserve to be supported and the nation and our economy are better and strong when we do.

We scrimp on either to our detriment.

    18. Tell me Barron didn’t get into Harvard without telling me he didn’t get into Harvard.

    19. Yeah, like it would end up with trade schools. He’d find a way for it to end up in his pocket. Corruption at its finest.
