Apparently reefer madness is still a thing in Texas. And lots of guns and alcohol are a super fun and safe combination.

This will definitely stop people from using drugs. Yep. Never gonna happen now.

When you come from a place where you can go to 10 different weed stores in 5 minutes, it’s so bizarre knowing that there are other states where this is still illegal.

It’ll put thousands of businesses (like mine) out of business. 50,000 people out of a job, and $200+ million lost in tax revenue.

      With virtually no upside.

So, you have the choice of legal weed with regulations and a tax revenue stream or criminalizing weed and having to enforce the law which costs way more then fines bring in. Morons.

I also love how the media calls these things „bipartisan“ when in reality the partisanship of the vote is blatantly obvious.

For this bill, all 11 sponsors were Republicans. For the vote, the GOP voted for this bill 80-2 (98% in favor), and the Dems voted for 7-52 (12% in favor). This is a GOP bill, no doubt about it.

Though the seven Dems who voted for this should be fired from a trebuchet into the Gulf of Mex, er, America.

How are they gonna follow the bible now?

„A man who lies with another man should be stoned.“

    10. It’s 2025 and this is what Republicans are doing … where are all the pot smoking Libertarians to tell us how the Republicans are the only ones who defend liberty??

Speaking of that…I wonder how Joe Rogan’s going to take this…

Someone check in on Toe Rogan, he must be devastated. (I know this wont apply to rich people)

“DON’T TREAD ON ME!” reads the large decal on the back of Jim Bob’s raised pickup truck, while he actively invites big government into his life to rule every aspect of it.

State fully of truly mentally deficient people.

So we’ll see joe rogan arrested during his show right? Right‽

    14. People need to realize that this shit is designed to fill prisons with slave labour. How do you think they plan on replacing all the immigrants they are forcing out of the country?

They aren’t going to replace that immigrant farmer with an American that will cost money, they’re going to use slaves.

I thought republicans loved freedom? Howdy Arabia is a 3rd world state. I love being able to buy my weed legally and safely without fear that my life will be ripped away from me.

This should stun people who believe in freedom. This is not freedom. This is consistently a pro-cartel, pro-black market, pro-corruption way to handle cannabis. If you want the cartels in your backyard, this is the way.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who has aggressively pushed for the THC ban, received $250,000 in 2024 from Silver Eagle Beverages, a major alcohol distributor, making the “Beer, Wine & Liquor” sector one of his top campaign contributors.

Just follow the money… This isn’t a decision based on the will of the people. This is a decision made to line his donors pockets as well as his own.

What is going to happen to all those pot smoking podcast dipshits and alt-right comedians that live in Texas now?
