I love how we went from “we aren’t cutting Medicare” to “we are only cutting it for people we believe don’t deserve it”

Slippery slope to “oh you’re trans. No Medicare for you”

    2. ahh more parasites I see. so what flavour are they? poor, poor black? poor white? Old and poor? Poor and disabled? Muslim and poor? Trans and Poor?

    3. TintedApostle on

Pro-Tip: That is everyone. These people don’t think anyone is deserving.

    4. I watched him yesterday on one of those shows, i wanted to jump through my television! Talking about Jesus as he takes food out of children’s mouths and healthcare for the elderly, a truly awful person.

Mike Johnson’s son’s phone must be pinging like crazy with alerts about how turned on his dad is watching poor people getting fucked.

Right, and that’s why it goes into effect only after the 2026 midterm elections. Just coincidence.

    7. Well, Republicans think everyone is „undeserving,“ so with 800 billion in cuts, that is a lot of lives that will be impacted. Some will die. But hey, billionaires got another tax cut to enrich themselves even more…they are hurting so bad…you know.

    8. The amount of money spent on the undeserving relative to the tax breaks and incentives given to the rich is absurd.

More absurd is that so many profess that we are a Christian nation or that they are Christians while knowing full well that money is their god.

    9. The Dems better save the video tape of Johnson saying that so they can create ads with interviews from people who lost the Medicare and clearly needed it.

Thaaaat’s right, you sanctimonious fuck. You know who does deserve that money? Rich people. And you know why? Because they’re better than you. Why else would they be rich

/s (for any conservatives reading this)

Ah, so that’s how it will pass. By shaming people for being on it

Well the speaker of the house is demon satan spawn who exchanges and monitors his porn habits with his son, while maintaining a not-so-secret Grindr account. So I’m not terribly caring much about what he thinks about the bill or the orange foundation smeared all over his face and butt cheeks

It’s time for universal healthcare. No more soft centrist reforms that get wiped away as soon as republicans get power. We need actual change.

Every human in a wealthy nation deserves some minimum comforts. Otherwise, what’s the point of all this excess?

    15. I don’t think people understand the hoops you have to jump through to get on these programs. It’s not like you show up and just say I need free healthcare and get it. It is a process and they don’t make it easy.

    16. Work requirements are just red tape that will kick people legally entitled to Medicaid off. Republicans know this. Their budget math assumes this. They are lying.

    17. This is how people keep falling for the LEF party trick.

They say „You’re one of the good ones, so we won’t eat YOUR face“ and people with no empathy who aren’t really paying attention think that sounds fine. „I deserve this, unlike those *other* people.“

But then it turns out that no one is safe.

Mike, please tell me where in the Bible it says we should only be “generous to the poor *who are truly deserving*”?

    19. festivesnow on

Arrogant prick and another phony Christian. We should be guaranteeing healthcare for all and taxing billionaires more not cutting healthcare off for „undeserving“ people. Isn’t the guy who monitors his son’s porn history? What a fucking weirdo.

Looking forward to the obituaries of the “people” responsible for running this shithole country further into the ground 🤭

As Jesus said, ‚Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Unless you don’t deserve it, in which case, screw you.‘

    22. Whether someone deserves it or not isn’t even a question! It’s called mercy! This is a fundamental Christian value which Mike would know if he was actually Christian. 1 John 4:20 buddy. There’s never any statements in the Bible about some idea of “worthy poor.” Christians are simply supposed to help the poor, worthy or not. Dude’s going straight to Hell.

There actually are a lot of people getting Medicaid who shouldn’t, but it’s not the people Trump is targeting, it’s rich people who exploit the fact that the means test doesn’t consider assets, just income. I know several. They have retired (or never worked but married well), they live in a million-dollar house, they have a multi-million dollar IRA and/or 401K, and they have tens of thousands in savings bonds. But since they aren’t working, and their bond interest and capital gains aren’t taxable, their AGI is only 30K or so, and they qualify for Medicaid. They will actually pay more for medical care when they turn 65 and get Medicare.

Did I mention they were rich? Trump will leave them alone.

Like children? You can’t have food until you have “x” level of calluses on your working hands – back to the mines!

    25. Except they believe that no individual deserves any help from the government. Only the wealthy and corporations are deserving of government help.

    26. They are liars and don’t care about average Americans. Only tax breaks for billionaires!

    27. poor people. working poor people. elder poor people. republicans don’t think poor people have earned the right to live.

    28. Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

“Except of course, for the unemployed and illegal aliens, just do whatever you want to those vermin, said the Lord”

    29. I’m sure the criteria for “deserving” is fair, transparent, and designed to protect the most vulnerable.

Just like the DOGE firings, y’know?

Excuse me, brb- I think I have some bullshit caught in my throat.
