The dems need to have younger leaders because the old ones keep dying off.

This boomer agrees wholeheartedly! Jasmine Crockett, AOC, and a few others are exactly what we need in the Democratic Party leadership.

Still a bit too centrist for me but I’d prefer her over the a lot of the others.

But is it “her turn”? And she’s barely in her 40’s! I thought the goal was to fill all positions of power with people with less than 4 months to live?

Jasmine Crockett is great – maybe not my first pick, but would be really happy with her leading the charge.

No argument from me. The question is, will it fly. Will it lead to electoral success? Don’t be too quick to say yes just because it excites you. Half of your fellow Americans voted for an obvious conman, liar, idiot, traitor, Russian asset instead of a perfectly qualified alternative.

Sure, but she’s not someone who will get elected President any time soon. 2016 hinted at it. 2024 confirmed it. Men will not elect a woman President.

David Hogg may not understand that 40% of America isn’t going to vote for a black woman simply on her description :/

I don’t like David Hogg. Something about him rubs me the wrong way. And I think his inexperience shows. I think it would be a mistake for the Democrats to view him as a leader at this point. He’s just too green, and too confident in his beliefs. The Dems definitely need new, younger leaders with fresh ideas and the fearlessness to go against the GOP, but not this young and inexperienced. Crockett is a better option, or at least moving in the right direction. I think AOC is a good choice, as well.

Of course he picks a progressive.
Buttigieg is the the leader we need.

America isn’t ready for a female leader, much less one of color. I said this about Kamala and got downvoted last time, but look what happened.

It’s an unpopular opinion here on Reddit, but progressives fail to grasp the reality that, before you can implement progressive policies, you must first win the election. Running a far-left, devisive candidate will not get them far.

No, what is needed is someone who recognizes that bipartisanship was stupid and divisive in the first place and that, regardless of party leaders, as long as we keep trying to perpetuate a system of identifying as in either category “A” or “B” that this conflict among the people and tendency toward group extremism will always be inevitable.
What we need more than a leader for “A” or “B”, is a people that thinks in better and freer ways than their parents/grandparents and realize that identifying with a party( instead of whichever candidate represents their own interests and has good qualities worth voting for) is completely irrational and irresponsible.

Your countries morals, values and “character” have never matched with reality, this is another example… Unless she’s far far to the right, you won’t vote a woman in, let alone a black woman who doesn’t mince her words
