      If they considered the ID to be fake, they are obviously not qualified to make that determination and shouldn’t be performing that sort of investigation.

      You should be able to sue and get a large amount of money if they illegally detain you, and you are a US citizen.

      They shouldn’t be allowed to illegally detain anyone, but since they’re going to be making a lot of “mistakes”, there should be legal and monetary consequences and penalties. Or throw them in prison when they kidnap someone wrongly. Or send them to El Salvador or Libya.
