Always sad to see these stories reminding us that the WW2 generation is leaving us. The living link to such a pivotal time in our history disappearing.

Was he at the VE 80 celebration a couple of weeks ago?
I know there was an old guy who was >100 who sat next to the king and was quite a delightful old chap. I don’t usually watch war stuff, but I had family taking part, so I was watching to see if I could spot my people. (I did, btw)
Every day we lose more and more.
It’s sad this generation will be gone soon.
In only a few months we’ve lost the last Battle of Britain pilot and now the last Dunkirk veteran. It really feels as if WW2 is passing into history.
