Thank you for sharing this, I too don’t always agree with Andrew Coyne but have found him to usually have some worthwhile views to listen to.
I watched this last night, great interview. I’m quite confident in Canada’s democracy but by the end he had convinced me that it needed serious reform.
It’s timely considering we have just come out of an election.
Loved this and agree with him on most of it. Too bad the elected officials are the only ones who can change anything. They’re incentivized not to.

Nope. But the cpc sure seems to be.
Great interview. The problems that canada is facing, and decades of stgnation experienced by the country, are all because of policy failures, and the biggest reason for these policy failures is that our democratic institutions are not functioning well.
People wont appreciate it enough, but whether your concern is the economy, healthcare, or something else, you can trace back the failure on these files to our democratic failures. Its the biggest issue in the country, imo
It isn’t broken. We voted for Mark Carney and voted against pierre poilievre, who also lost his seat. The only things broken are people who are the people who want conservative government.
