      Even now 5 of the 6 oldest are Democrats. In the House.

      Oldest is a Republican, then 5 Democrats in a row, one Republican, the two more Democrats, one Republican and then four more Democrats.

      For over age of 80 there are 3 Republicans and 12 Democrats.

      In the senate 13 of the 16 oldest are Dem or Independent who vote with the Dems.

      Gerry Connolly (D-VA) passed away yesterday on May 21;  he’s the third House Democrat to pass away this year. Sylvester Turner (D-TX) passed away on March 05, and Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) passed away on March 13.

      I did an Anglosphere comparison yesterday. In the UK the average age in the House of Commons is 48. Equivalents in Ireland 48, in Australia it’s 51, New Zealand it’s 49 and finally in Canada it’s 50.

      Incredibly small difference with the USA clearly the outlier.

      I dont feel sorry for them. They should be forced to retire at 65. Camping in a seat because they have „no other purpose in life“ is completely bullshit. That’s a you problem.

      Making the halls of government look like a damn zombie apocalypse.

      Why don’t they want to retire? Like, is the job so comfortable it’s as easy as just retiring with a lot of money they all seem to have? I’m not sure I want to force retirement but some real mentorship would be good, and … just retire like a normal working person wants to do. People out here starving and getting sick have to go back to work and greet customers at Walmart and shit. They’re old and they’ve had a career, why don’t they select retirement for themselves?

      For all the good Dems attempt to do at the end of the day the fact that many would get to well past the age of stepping down and would rather die in office and fuck the party shows they have one thing in common with Reps. It’s ultimately about power. They won’t give it up.

      David Hogg is correct. We need to vote out these geriatrics from public service. They are old and their frame of reference on today’s political climate is old.

      If they’re so old that they’re dying in office **they’re failing in their duties**. They need to prepare the next generation and get them IN OFFICE and GAINING EXPERIENCE before they die, and if they haven’t adequately prepared the next person to carry the torch, they’ve been a failure.
