38 isn’t too old to have a baby also TIL that Megan fox has never heard of menopause.

you’d be surprised how many parents don’t want to admit that their kids were unplanned 👀

We kinda do because once the menopause hits we ain’t making no babies without medical intervention and a donor egg.

Shoot, i’m 34 and had my first last year and having my second this year. So many think that having kids in your 30s is a death sentence AND it’s also labeled “a geriatric pregnancy” at 35. We need to chill out with this stuff. We dont die when we hit menopause and we definitely dont die if we have kids later.
Also, I lovingly say this…unprotected sex does lead to kids? She should know that.

Menopause aside I think she’s sort of saying this in reference to the societal pressure placed on women to have children when they’re younger due to misconceptions about birth defects becoming more likely as you get older. It is true that it increases, but we’re talking about less than 1% to maybe 5% for things like down syndrome.
Edit for clarity:
• At age 25, the risk is roughly 1 in 1,250 (~0.08%).
• At age 35, it increases to about 1 in 350 (~0.29%).
• At age 40, it rises to 1 in 100 (1%).
• By age 45, the risk is about 1 in 30 (~3.3%).

38 is considered a high-risk pregnancy. That said, I think she took more risks by having a baby with a mentally unstable drug addict than by having a baby at 38.

I had my second kid at 35 after a 10 year gap with my first one and a third pregnancy at 37. My geriatric pregnancies were tough as they were exhausting and tiring and I could really tell the difference being pregnant in the 20s and late 30s. Also both my kids were told to have a risk of genetic diseases. Thankfully praise God they both were completely healthy. Celebrity late pregnancy where you have help and regular late pregnancy with no help are two worlds apart!

I mean, in the sense that that’s a really gross way to word it, you’re right. But in the sense that one day you will no longer be able to have children, that’s just biological fact. And it’s also biological fact that it is insanely more dangerous to have a child after 35 than it is before. Doesn’t mean it’s not doable, my nephew was just born last year and my sister is 36. He’s perfectly healthy and I could not be happier.
But, in the sense of how you’re saying it, which is a way that I would never word it myself, you do have an „expiration date“ in that regard.
I feel like you were trying to make a point, but I doubt the journalists asked how you „managed to have a baby past your expiration date“. So it’s an odd thing to say and makes it sound like you’re just saying that women don’t eventually lose the ability to have babies. Which..

Gonna be an unhappy surprise for that kid though when they see who their parents are.

Megan Fox reminds me of Brandi Maxxxx from Parks and Rec:
She’s actually making a good point but coming from her it kinda deflates it almost to the point where you were better off just having her not make the point in the first place.

How come everyone is trashing Megan for having a kid at 38 but all excited for Rihanna for being pregnant at 37?
