So people who are trying to go through the process of getting disability what happens to them? It’s not as if disability is a one month process it takes years to get approved

As a provider who receives transfers from rural hospitals, and has friends who provide care for rural America in a red state, those patients are incredibly screwed. It wasn’t enough that Trump destabilized trade and agriculture, now these cuts will delay necessary care and likely shutter rural hospitals, further worsening already terrible health outcomes in said demographic.
Pretty sure they just signed my mom’s death warrant.

It’s wild that the wealthy in this country have essentially declared war on the lower classes, and we just have to take it.
And part of the reason we have to take it is that a huge chunk of the lower classes WANTS this, because they have been trained to see anyone poor as a lazy/bad/entitled person. Except themselves. So the message is „sure, YOU are poor, but that’s liberals fault. And everyone ELSE that is poor is lazy and stealing from you. So elect US, and we will punish those *other* poor people for you, ok?“
Now people will see these cuts and think „YES!!! The lazy people can’t steal from me anymore! Oh… wait… my aging mother just lost her support. Oh, my neighbor Jim has been kicked off food stamps, but he’s not lazy, he got hurt at work, he can barely walk! Wait… my WIFE too? She is disabled!! How can they do this!!??!“
I hate the ‚pizza‘ analogies out there, but there is one broad one that summarizes how our country works. An 8 slice pizza is put down at a table with a CEO, a plumber, and a teacher. The CEO quickly takes 7 slices, then turns to the plumber and says „hey, that LAZY teacher is trying to take YOUR slice of pizza!!!“
This huge Medicare cut is once again largely because they have vilified everyone who isn’t rich so much that we’re willing to inflict pain, suffering, and even death on them because of their life situation.

And I didn’t even realize this, but [two others have passed away this year](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Congress_members_who_died_in_office_(2000%E2%80%93present)#2020s), and *neither* of those seats have been filled yet, and all three of those that died were 70+, and of natural causes.
We seriously need a law in place that, if you’re battling a terminal ailment that requires prolonged, committed treatment, you should have to resign your Elected position until it’s either cured or in remission – *but* as a way of saying „thank you for your service“, your medical bills will be covered by the government.
Lisa McLain in Michigan house district 9 berated a woman in a March 10th tele town hall for expressing concern about Medicaid cuts. She claimed that Democrats were “lying and fear mongering” about it.

They are getting everything they have ever wanted or been accused of trying to want: Abortion, cutting funding to PBS, Lowering EPA and FDA standards, Supreme court seats so on and so forth.

Greg Abbott holding Texas 18th Congressional District without representation until November 2025 just paid off big time. Texas is screwing over all the other states right now by denying representation to the folks in the 18th congressional district.
And the more concerning thing about this bill is the provision that prevents the Supreme Court or any judicial body in the United States from enforcing a contempt of court action against the administration. Effectively this seems to be a pretty big power grab by the executive branch at the expense of the Senate and judiciary.
I am tired of being concerned for and fighting for things that don’t impact me. It is time for me to be as selfish as these MAGA morons.

215-214 with 3 current vacancies in the House means that 3 shitheels didn’t vote at all. 212 Dems in the House plus 2 Republicans voted with them means that the missing votes all came from Republicans. Idk who they were, but I’d bet that they were from districts where they were afraid a vote for this would cost them reelection so they took the cowards way out by purposefully being absent so the vote count would be enough to pass and they need to still be held accountable for that. Hell, if I’m right and it’s not just a case of it being 3 geriatric Congress members who were laid up in the hospital then they’re also 3 of the most vulnerable to being held to account.

If you’re going to say „But so many people who didn’t vote for Trump will be negatively affected,“ let’s remember a huge number of these people didn’t vote at all or voted for a throwaway candidate. They could’ve prevented this easily.
If taxes aren’t coming down significantly, how does this help Americans? If the argument is that it’s not worth the taxes we spend, why don’t they reduce the taxes by the same amount for the people that benefit from Medicaid?
It is so sad that so many republican voters are excited for this bill. They just believe the welfare queen myth. This is going to hurt everyone. People on Medicaid want to work if they are not. They might have physical or mental heath symptoms preventing them. So many hospitals, nursing homes, non-profits will close. Millions will be effected. When stuff closes it be those damn democrats.
Doesn’t matter if it passes by 1 vote or 100, still terrible legislation to cripple this country passed exclusively by Republikkkans

Its sad that there is anybody under the 1% who thinks this won’t affect them. It does not matter how good your insurance is. You are about to witness an absolute dumpster fire of a medical system. Collapses across the board.
The people who relied on medicaid aren’t just going to magically stop needing treatment after they get cut.
They are going to be forced to go to and clog up emergency room waiting rooms to receive treatment. For something which previously could have been handled over a phone call or through automated prescriptions/systems.
Have fun waiting multiple days in an overloaded ER waiting room for emergency care. Doesn’t matter what insurance you have. The system will be entirely overloaded like we have never seen. If you have an emergency that is actually life threatening, you are much more likely to die in the waiting room than to receive care if this goes into effect.
And financially, it will not save any money. It will cost more in the end. It’s societal suicide. Drug use, addiction, and fentanyl deaths will skyrocket as disabled people seek self medication. Deaths of despair will skyrocket. Crime will get worse. Rural hospitals will close, and with that, all those people who rely on them are doomed.
It’s happened before, and it always destroys society. See the USSR societal homicide.
So while you get hoodwinked into thinking, this saves money. (The 1% get trillions in tax cuts while the poor, working class and society in general eats itself alive) no money is saved. The rich will get richer from it at the expense of the working class.
If you voted for this, I have no sympathy for you. It will be you in the ER. It will be your kids needing care. It will be your family, your parents, your cousins, and if it is serious, kiss them goodbye and tell them your orange conman enriching the ultra rich was worth their lives.
