Elon Musk says he has “done enough” to help MAGA Republicans win elections, signaling a shift in his kingmaker role as Trump’s top campaign backer.
After months of watching his popularity plummet, the DOGE slasher-in-chief said he plans to cut back on funding political campaigns—a move that could dampen the Republicans’ efforts at next year’s midterm elections and in the lead up to the 2028 presidential election.
When asked if he would continue spending as much as he has in the past at the Qatar Economic Forum, Musk answered: “I think, in terms of political spending, I’m going to do a lot less in the future.”

I mean, becoming the wealthiest person in the world on a company that makes an expensive product that slots in to one political demographic, then turning around, insulting them, funding the opposition is certainly a choice. But it makes him look even more stupid that he acts like this is a surprise.
Elon doesn’t appear to be a smart man. It seems Tesla and SpaceX excelled because very smart people who knew how to work Elon for the money while giving him some glory got it going.

It’s not so easy when you burn all your cash to buy something you were trying to leverage as a pump and dump, borrow money from hostile foreign sovereign states, and proceed to dismantle all of our governments systems to satisfy the oligarchy and rip off the commoners with snake oil pitches about multilevel marketing type nonsense in government.
