I really wish I could draw cartoons because I’m picturing Saint Peter at the pearly gate with all the angels behind him yelling, “Norm!”
His name always felt like it was in the past tense. And now he is too.

RIP to an absolute legend, his presence was enormous in ‚Cheers‘ and the show wouldn’t’ve been the same without him.

My friend and I ran into him at a bar in Culver City 20 years ago. He was sitting by himself and so my friend went up to him and asked if he could buy him a beer. George was super sweet and chatted a while but said that he didn’t let fans buy him beer, bc he would end up having too many beers. (I believe it, who wouldn’t want to buy Norm a beer? That’d be a lot of beers.)
