Man what’s the point of Switzerland speaking out about this issue if the Armenian government itself doesn’t say a word about it?

The current Armenian government views the Karabakh issue as a “noose around its neck” that has been “resolved” and sees no reason to continue worrying about it, other than blaming the defenseless Karabakh people for not staying and fighting as Alen Simonyan did.

The Pashinyan administration will never focus on this issue because it views it as something which creates obstacles between the Armenia and Azerbaijan “peace agenda” (ie it will anger Azerbaijan) which is what they are banking on to get re-elected.

Let’s just get this straight. The current government is willing to trample on the enshrined human right of 150 thousand people for a peace deal that will never come to fruition, because the illusion of progress on said peace deal will get them re-elected. Their silence on this issue is what enabled Azerbaijan to do many of the awful things it has already done, like demolishing Karin Tak, Mokhrenes, big quarters of Stepanakert, settling Stepanakert and several purely Armenian villages with Azerbaijani settlers, completely looting the region, demolishing countless churches and cemeteries, etc all since 2023. Had our foreign ministry done the simple thing of making a STATEMENT on these events, I am sure Azerbaijan would have been a lot less unrestrained in its colonization efforts.
